Lets talk about Mombasa and its beaches!!!!
In the city of Mombasa is where the old Portuguese Fort Jesus conspicuously stands, the Old Town, Markets and Shops. There are extensive varieties of excursions available to sample the
local culture and the famous Kenyan wildlife. You may choose to eat out at a number of
restaurants, traveling after dark by taxi. Our representatives may have a number of practical suggestions - feel free to ask. There is a wide selection of hotels right on the beach and at
affordable prices. For ease of reference we have divided the beaches into three main areas.
The hotels are situated either on the North or South Coast of Mombasa or at Watamu, further
north of Mombasa. The North Coast is closer to the town centre and is popular with tourists and offers a variety of activities. Restaurants and hotels are an hour drive to the airport.
To get to the south coast you got to use Likoni Ferry to get to Kilindini harbor. The transfer time
is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Diani beach, with over six miles of uninterrupted
talcum-white sands, lapped by the clear turquoise Indian Ocean, forms the heart of the South
Coast. Diani's wide white beaches coupled with its peaceful tranquillity form an ideal location for
honeymooners. Watamu, situated south of Malindi town, hosts a delightful Marine Park covering
19 miles (ca. 30 km) of coastline.
Breathtaking coral gardens teem with brightly colored tropical fish and the tranquil Mida Creek borders an ancient Mangrove forest. Watamu is a haven for snorkelling enthusiasts and avid or novice scuba divers as it harbors one of the world's most spectacular marine parks. Motorised water sports are not available. Watamu is about two hours by road from Mombasa Airport.
