Safari program Kenya Turkana safari:

Day 1: Nairobi  - Lake Baringo
Depart Nairobi for Lake Baringo with picnic lunch en route. Arrive in the afternoon and visit Lake Baringo where we overnight in a campsite and enjoy the lake atmosphere with birds, crocodiles and hippos. Dinner and overnight on the campsite.

Day 2: Lake Baringo  - Maralal - South Horr
After breakfast to leave Baringo for your tour through the rough road and this rugged terrain 1,800 km expedition is run in Landcruiser or Landrover, as trucks are not allowed into the Sweetwaters Private Game Ranch. This means a maximum group size of 7. It takes you up into the heart of the Northern Frontier District. You will traverse along some of Africa’s worst roads, see beautiful mountain forest surrounded on all sides by hot dusty deserts, eventually arriving at a camp on the shores of the Jade Sea (Lake Turkana).

A boat is based here and is available for sunset cruises and exploring the surrounding areas. You will see a great variety of tribes during the tour and cross the Chalbi Desert if dry. During the rains it becomes an enormous shallow lake. You will spend sometime camel walking with Samburu local guides on the foothills of Mt. Nyiro. journey to Maralal with lunch en route.
Dinner and overnight in South Horr.

Day 3: South Horr - Lake Turkana
After your morning breakfast to depart for Turkana arriving in time for lunch at El Molo campsite on the shores of Lake Turkana. Leisure at the Jade Sea with dinner and overnight included.

Day 4: Lake Turkana
You will visit the El Molo village with lunch at the campsite. Afternoon spent on leisure- swimming (if crocodiles permit), fishing or relaxing. Overnight at the camp.

Day 5: Lake Turkana
Whole day to spent exploring the lake for more fun. All meals included.

Day 6: Lake Turkana –  Maralal
After breakfast to leave Lake Turkana for Maralal with picnic lunch en route. Night will be spent in Maralal.

Day 7: Maralal - Samburu Game Reserve
You will leave Maralal for driving to the Samburu Game Reserve. Game viewing as you drive to the camp. Afternoon game drive returning to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Samburu Game Reserve.
Pre-breakfast game drive returning to the camp for breakfast. Another game drive may be available before lunch at the camp. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 9: Samburu-Nairobi or Mt. Kenya
After your morning breakfast to leave Samburu for a journey back to Nairobi with lunch served  en route. Drop off in Nairobi. Optinal is to arrange for you a drive to Mt. Kenya.
