7 days Tanzania mountain climbing safari to Mt. Kilimanjaro: the Marangu Route (MKTZ02)

Climbing the highest mountain of Africa is a challenge a real climber want to enjoy on the slopes of the Kilimanjaro - reaching the verlasting snow. You will be guided by experienced specialists with the best material.

Day 1: Nairobi - Arusha - Moshi
We will meet you at the Nairobi airport or your hotel, where we depart Nairobi by a morning shuttle to Moshi arriving late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight in a hotel at Moshi.

Day 2: Moshi - walking to Mandara Hut
After breakfast we drive 45 km to Marangu Gate (1860 m). Walk 9 kms through dense
semi-tropical Rain Forest to Mandara Hut (2744 m).
Dinner and overnightat the Mandara Hut.

Day 3: Walking Mandara to Horombo Hut
After breakfast we depart early in the morning for a 10 hr walk up to Horombo Hut (3761m). The landscape becomes more rigged and rocky but superb, with Mawenzi and Kibo peaks in view. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 4: Walking Horombo to Kibo Hut
After breakfast we proceed on a 6 hour walk throguh the spectacular mountain vegetation to Kibo Hut (4732 m).
Dinner and overnight at the Kibo Hut.

Day 5: Walking Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak/Horombo Hut
The final attempt to the summit is made in the early hours of the morning at 2:00 am. It takes about 5 hours to the most difficult steep part of the route to Gilman Point(5681 m). From Gilmans, it takes one hour and thirty minutes to Uhuru Peak (5895 m.) Descend to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight and meals.

Day 6: Hurumbu Hut - Moshi
The descent is rapid. After breakfast we walk down to Marangu Gate for transfer to Moshi. Dinner and overnight in a hotel at Moshi

Day 7: Arusha - Nairobi
We depart Moshi by morning shuttle back to Nairobi arriving approx. early in the evening.

Price: US $ 1260 per person.

  • Transport in 4x4 vehicle with pop up roof
  • All park entrance fees
  • Accommodation in huts and camps
  • Rescue fee;
  • Transfer from Nairobi airport to your hotel;
  • All Government taxes and levies
  • 3 meals a day vegetarian and non-vegetarian
  • Guides, rangers and porters allowances

Exclusive of:

  • For first night or last night accommodation in Arusha, but we will be happy to arrange them for you!
  • International air transportation to and from Arusha.
  • Expenses of personal nature such as visas, travel/baggage insurance, en route lunches, laundry, tips, etc.
  • Christmas, New Years and  Eastern supplementary fees
